Sorry yall! I was a bit of a prick in this episode. It doesn’t matter why. She understands and is a very nice person 🙂 We’ve checked in and also had a fun post-show afterwards. All that matters is trying to be a better person every day!

40:07 I 💯 agree with her on this! No way should 18 year olds be allowed to take out this amount of debt without being educated!! You are not allowed to drink, you are not allowed to rent a car but you’re allowed to take out this amount of debt! It’s predatory!!!!!
Caleb defending bad private student loan practices to make her look worse in this episode is a little disgusting. Did she make bad choices at 18? Sure. A lot of people do. That doesn't make the slimy way they lure teenagers into high interest debt alright.
Yes company creating redundancy, by expanding her capacity/role responsibility, giving her depreciating asset/liabilities, exempting overtime, and eliminating other salaried positions would have more than quadrupled the amount investment in less than a year. They were essentially playing on her emotional response to receiving gifts (gratitude). How can CALEB be so incredibly obtuse that he does not see that employer was completely exploiting her.
You misreading the total interest accrued and total interest accrued from the last statement was downright comedic when your graphic’s guy pulled it up on screen and highlighted it 😂
I am with her on the idea of having teens sign contracts to go tens of thousands into debt for a potential useless degree being a really bad thing. The US university system really is fucked up in that regard.
Maybe I'm just a different breed or something. I am an executive assistant now, and yeah, it is generally a stressful job, but I still go to school and have a second job–all while having disabilities and stupid chronic illnesses. I try not to compare myself or judge others, but I see so many episodes where people just give up because the work is hard… I don't understand that take.
As an executive assistant from a third world country where training for the job is new and we have to find ways on our own 90% of the time, it is baffling to me how many times she answered she didn’t know how to do things or what things are about areas in her life that actually matter. Not having filed taxes in two years when resources on how to are readily available online? Seriously?
Really deserved Caleb’s drilling Google into her head every time.
I've owed the IRS money every year, and if you pay them regularly, they leave you alone! Granted, I've only owed them a max of $3k, but I made the payments, and I had no issues.
The problem with colleges, and the sheer number of young adults with outstanding debt, is colleges are predatory. I've never seen a recruiter or counselor, who wasn't trying their damnedest to get your to sign up, before you even knew what you were signing yourself up for. It's why if you're a parent, of a teenager, you should be 100% involved in their career goals, assuming they have any.
A college or uni will try to get them signing paperwork, before the kid even knows the actual price of anything, and when they do tell them the prices/costs, hand-wave it away because of FAFSA or other crap they can "help" you apply for. They'll end up owing 10's-of-thousands to a school or a bank, before they even have a single degree in hand.
The problem is not so much naive teens/young adults, as it, uninformed and left to fend for themselves against predatory practices. I feel pity for 20-somethings who got grifted like the rest of us, not frustration with them.
Did they really both blank on the term Maid of Honour, basically the female version of a Best Man, who is the "number one in charge" in terms of the party.
Smoking w##$ doesn't help with depression or anxiety. She is full of excuses. She can lose her subsided housing, not paying her student loans. Girl, get a second job and get your s%^& together.
I’m on her side when it comes to the student loans. There needs to be more education on how interest works in high school. Not all kids have parents who teach good financial habits. 18 is absolutely still a kid.

This girl thinks she's way smarter than she actually is.

I work closely with the public…. it doesn't take that long to look acceptable, maybe 15min to look super good. You all are doing waaaaay too much lol
31:07 Ive never understood dream colleges.
She had an excuse for anything and everything. No insight and from my point of view there will be no improvement.

Well they do. But you never listen in school.
All I have to say about this episode is that she's very beautiful…

student loans is the equivalent to the snap on truck
The nonchalant “well she might be stupid, idk” is killing me😂😂

Stop promoting good food being radiated in microwave. Perfect way to deplete all nutritional content.
What's wrong with pouring into a pan ?

I can fix her
She’s cute
35:50 Caleb going haam.

She was lovely. First guest I've seen that I actually like. Still wouldn't trust her with a credit card but nobody is perfect.
Los Gatos is a town in California where Netflix is based, Caleb.

Nah American student loans are insane. She's right for that.
