If you have 2-3 years for buying a car, then my man you can never buy it as cars get expensive by day. Also, if the person would have studied in those 2-3 years and used those 5L for some master’s degree, the person could have gotten better salary. I understand what he wants to communicate but you can’t progress with keeping tabs on everything, sometimes you have to broaden your horizon.

Car ke liye fund rakhna hi kyun hai, use public transport. Aur agar office paas hai to use a two wheeler. Car tab Lena jab ek saath pura Paisa deke bhi bank mein kam se kam 3 lakh bache ho aur salary bachi ho puri after expenses for petrol daily running and maintenance.
Emi par car kabhi nai Lena.

I would just put down 1/2 lakhs and get a car loan for remaining 3-4 lakhs while putting the remaining savings in safe investment modes. Now I can at least stop worrying about travelling to places. And in case I lose my job, I have a car that I could either use as a cab in city or just travel wherever I want while using apps like 'bla bla'. While retaining 3-4 lakhs in savings which are also returning some interest for basic expenses.
But I would have bought the car in the first or second year itself since I wouldn't make it a goal if I didn't need it. But that's just me 😂😅
