Honestly when he was unaware that his wife had their home appraised it instantly made me wonder if she is planning divorce. I hope that is not the case but that is a partnership thing to do. Not solo when you’re married. They could also be super dysfunctional in their marriage also.
Has to ask if brown bagging is right, … AT 62!!! My dad taught me about the "idiots who spend $10 a day(now $20-25) at the food truck, spending a 1/2's days pay each week" & I see it every day. Same guys with car payments and spending over a hundred at the "roach coach" are always working tons of OT on beautiful days yet are consistently broke. Asking for loans till payday. Haha. Love it. Bet the bosses really love it because they know that this person needs to work 2 weeks just to cover his BMW. Then they complain about some politicians they know nothing about or yell about immigrants, etc. Anything but look at themselves
Can you imagine when the current 25-35 yo's reach this age? God help us. Then again this guy is a special kind of stupid & selfish. Shortsighted. Just listen 50:00 to him talking about his daughter.
Starting over very late, this guy gives me great hope. Both where he's at financially, & even more so his attitude & complete lack of plan at his age. Feel for him but the more he opens his mouth I feel less.
AND AN ADULT USING CREDIT ONE! Scam company. Lol. $300 limit for 35% or so.
Watching and learning is one thing, executing is another. Making mistakes is one thing, repeating them over and over, well that’s another problem that you must solve.
A lot of those transactions said they’re in Seattle WA, but he lives in Austin. I’m wondering if perhaps the daughter lives in Seattle for school and is spending on their cards (maybe has an authorized user card).
If you are wondering at what age you should save money… The answer is yes.
Also, I had a comment when towards the end of the interview how defensive he got and pouting like a little kid. That's his problem. It's his mental maturity. He gets upset when he knows he shouldn't be doing something dumb but still wants to like teenager mentality at 61. It's crazy
He lied through his teeth about that $1.5k withdrawal from his 401k. People fall for his "aww shucks" act but he's playing dumb through and through. He'll never change…
I know that this was his own fault, but I cannot help but feel so terrible for this man. I have a soft spot for the elderly and though this is a great lesson for future generations – the look on his face slowly becoming more and more saddened throughout the episode destroyed me 😢
Help me out here, He gets a masters degree but then does not say why and what use it has been to him. I am making an assumption here that he went into debt for the masters degree but ended up with a degree in nothingness and an income to match.
62? He looks like he’s in his 70’s…stress from debt is a killer. I do not feel bad for him because he is so immature for his age. He should know better.
Caleb, besides another bankruptcy, his best move would be to rent out individual rooms in his home. That’s, along with buying a rental property with an inheritance, was what my mother, a low paid secretary, did and she died with assets of $1.2 million. In Austin, a room could go for about $350. If they’re in a four bedroom house with a finished basement, that would gross an extra $1,400 a month.
What’s terrible is 15 years ago this job was probably really good. My mom never made more than 27k a year and raised 2 kids with no benefits. With the recent amount of inflation and price increase he’s really really struggling to stay afloat. This is why bad policies are killing people more than people know
My father has more. He not only bankrupted them, he did it twice. He opens cards in my mom's name because she was still working. He carried them; played card rotation payment. He ran through her retirement plan… and yet he still can afford more debt and a new car ever year. He's now in his 80s.
I have a lot of credit cards but I utilize about 3% of my availabile credit. I use my cards for airline points to help me travel. Or cash back. But I pay them off every month ( with rare exception). Thanks to my dad for teaching me financial literacy.❤
I am so happy that I've been fiscally responsible and able to retire at age 59 and do the extra travel I've saved for. Any bonus went towards paying down debt, maxed out my 401k and buy houses/cars below my means. Loving my scuba diving retirement! Thanks to my parents for the education.

Somehow, even after a long conversation in this episode, we uncovered EVEN MORE wild stuff about his past in today's Post Show: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCLe_q9axMaeTbjN0hy1Z9xA/join

True success, to me, is living debt free. Takes work but it is DEFINITELY possible. With sound investments, money really can make money.
"That's not what's happening, BUDDY.."
"I said she's in college"
This guy's straight off National Lampoon's

Its amusing to me you have members only videos that after a full day show zero views. Greed makes you the opposite of interesting

Proof decisions lead to outcomes. Could have been living it up like every other boomer, but decided to throw it away on bs.
This guy enjoys playing the fool
It’s weird because one of the main reasons to work for the state is that it offers decent retirement
Don’t you have to go through credit counseling if you do bankruptcy?
Did u low key catch this guy cheating by looking at his restaurant bills 😮
Separate in financials cos he has a gambling shirt
I get Tim Walz vibes

His peers are in their golden years and he’s grinding for 1/2 a chance at retirement. The definition of “choose your hard” 😭
Just upped my retirement contribution while watching this
Is the biggest frog movies he's laughing and smiling through the whole thing like it's a joke.
You can’t bankrupt student loan debt
He’s the last person to be giving any advice. Retire at 70 without any disease.

60 years old damn
He's definitely voting Kamala.
The US seriously needs laws passed to keep them from taking advantage of people who can not afford it.
Art school, fiscally irresponsible, depending on govt handouts, definitely votes Democrats

This dude gonna outlive Caleb Hammer. Dudes bp has to be higher than the dudes monthly interest.

He is an actor or maybe ur dad
This guy was gainfully employed for decades when housing was 50 dollars to purchase. How could you fail this badly.

What a ridiculous and moronic way to live.
Amount of credit card they have , to have open is insane!!!😬
Food pantries!!!!! For a while anyway. Put money towards debt that would have been spent on eating out.
Is Hammer autistic? This lack of basic manners in conversation is unsettling.
We are dealing with a former flower child free spirited art major type that is just in another universe.
a nice guy , genuinely
but my God 🙏,
he's heading to secondary bankruptcy.

Tim Walz vibes. This has to be a joke.
He sounds and acts like the typical person from Austin .
Not very bright
