How about not spilling plastic to begin with? We have to push more to hold those responsible for spillage. All countries should outlaw any plastic containers that cannot be recycled .
The Global Plastic Market size was valued at USD 599 Billion in 2022 and is poised to grow from USD 624.16 Billion in 2023 to USD 867.43 Billion by 2031, growing at a CAGR of 4.2% during the forecast period (2024-2031).
I’ve developed a real distain for environmental activists because of the bad actors that have just plain lied to us about the situation for so many years. It’s such an age old lesson about truthfulness. It takes an enormous amount of time to build genuine trust but it only takes a second or one lie to destroy a reputation forever. Now I don’t know who to trust because of these types of lies. For all I know, this video could be a complete lie with some concealed agenda they’re not being forthcoming about.
She uses a powerful computer for video editing but can't record her screen any other way than filming it with an external camera. Now that's what I call 'professional work' 🙂
What the f*** is this video? It's practically a commercial for the plastic industry in the first half (which is all most people will watch as it's indulgently long)… "You're being lied to…the great pacific garbage patch is not as bad as you've been led to believe." …People are not doing jack s*** about the massive amount of plastic that's produced and how almost every human being on Earth has micro plastic in their system. Alarmism needs to be ramped up, and telling people that the ocean plastic may actually be good for certain sea animals that have adapted to it is NOT doing that …Even if the latter half of the video gets better, but who really wants to hang around to the last minute of an 18-minute long YouTube video for the "good stuff?"
She just happened to leave out the part where plastics are literally ESSENTIAL FOR EVERYTHING IN DAILY LIFE. These snooty scientists can yap all they want about the environment, the end result is you pay a shitload more because there’s no cost effective alternative to plastics
More BS models. Just like Climate Change (a joke and a marxist scam). No real data. Selling fear to get votes to damn ourselves. Most ocean pollution is from China, the asia basin, etc. Not 1st world nations and no, China is not a 1st world nation.
Poorly prepared report by a biased news organisation. I like how you used footage from one of the only organisations in the world (The Ocean Cleanup) that is not only cleaning up the GPGP but also tracking all plastic pollution back to their sources and attempting to prevent it accessing the ocean at all, along with working with local organisations and governments on how to prepare and administer proper waste management processes to prevent pollution from accessing the waterways at all. It is a sad world when a proported News Organisation cannot even effectively report news. Recycling hasn't been the solution for decades and all of the petro chemical companies, their lobby groups and other actors have lied about that! Where was the reporting on this and the blame laying on the regulatory bodies. Instead you are telling individuals (you know, the ones that make up a business like Coca Cola) that it is not their fault and the GPGP should not even be cleaned up – what a load of bs. Be better Business Insider!
This is now a joke. I thought you guys were reliable. Do you even realise what your saying. Your arguing that we should be okay with rubbish.. like comon. How can we even consider oh yeah it's not that bad lol. Pathetic.
Wrong about the big SUV’s producing more micro plastics because they are so heavy well news flash. All these EV’s are very heavy. Much more than SUV’s So having a EV 100% requirement by 2030 well you do the math. Don’t blow your mind greenies. Don’t get me started on the EV batteries with child slave labour……….
I feel like this was overall a good topic but just a weirdly biased and poorly executed video with an outright click bait premise to reel people in. People DEFINITELY saw the title and clicked (yay for views) but i doubt most even stayed for the entire video because of the actual content of it
I was hoping she would talk about how most people of developed nations aren't responsible for the plastics in the ocean. 93% of ocean plastic pollution comes from 8 rivers in Asia and 2 rivers in Africa. If they didn't have access to plastic, the problem would go away. (Until subversive news media would begin reporting on how 100% comes from nations with access to plastic in order to curtail our freedoms)
Love how Americans get called out for SUVs when every country is adopting EVs which are the heaviest vehicles we’ve ever built and go through tires far quicker than ICE vehicles
Clean it up, it doesn’t matter how it got there. It’s still there and wrecking the environment by breaking down into microplastics which find their way into EVERYTHING.
I never heard the term "authoritarian government." They have no qualms about dumping directly into the ocean. But these are mostly not "white people." So leftists think it's racist to criticize them. Spend 15 minutes on that hypocracy.

No I think we were lied to about recycling
You can only dump so much trash in the water before it becomes poison!

Obviously you have never walked on a beach near an ocean current. # 1 object found? Plastic bottles and tampoon inserters.

Watching this is like reading a paper from a sustainability journal. So much research and analysis. Great job explaining.
Its easier to become a lobbyist than it is to become a scientist.

is not fake
This report belongs on a floating island in the Pacific.
And the title itself a lie (or maybe representing)

do this but for CO2 pollution

“The plastic is actually good for the environment” 🤣🤣🤣
The Great Ocean cleanup cleaned up a fk load of it
Video fails to mention that the majority of plastic in the ocean comes from poor countries and mostly from asia.
Who paid for and made this?! Chines propaganda
It is a scam
CRV is not given back to the people

business insider now covers environmental science?? ok sure
I think the problem isn’t photoshopped images. IT’S THERE TRASH IN ALL OUR WATERWAYS!

Hm. You want to talk about tires… the heavier the vehicle the faster they lose rubber? Try looking into AIRCRAFT tires then. 737 weighs a LOT.

I seem to remember something about the 1960's or 70's… when PAPER Bags were "the big evil", and PLASTIC Bags were the way to solve the problem. :-/
Oh good. The UN is involved. What could go wrong? The UN should be disbanded.
Hemp can make every product plastic can. And do it cheaper and healthier. But for some reason we refuse…..
Sorry not interested cause i already know this from like a decade ago
Ahh, a business channel talking about environmental issues. Must be funded by businesses.
If you want to protect marine life…
…stop eating it.

Fighting the good fight!
Insane leftists lying to us… say it ain’t so.
so once again we have to wait until the wealthy are getting tired of it, which will never happen as long as they can profit a just little bit more.
